After shocking the hockey world by selecting Juraj Slafkovsky with the No. 1 overall pick, the Montreal Canadiens continued to make moves on draft day.
The Canadiens pulled off two separate trades to eventually acquire Kirby Dach from the Chicago Blackhawks.
First, the Habs traded away defenseman Alexander Romanov and the No. 98 pick in this year's draft to the New York Islanders in exchange for the No. 13 pick.
Montreal immediately dealt the 13th pick and the No. 66 pick to the Blackhawks for Dach.

Dach, 21, was the third overall selection in the 2019 draft by the Blackhawks.
Last season, he posted career-highs in goals (9), assists (17) and points (26), playing in 70 games.
Over three seasons with the Blackhawks, Dach played in 152 games, finishing with 59 points (19 goals, 40 assists).
Dach was the second young Blackhawks player traded on Thursday. Before the draft, Chicago dealt Alex DeBrincat to the Ottawa Senators for the No. 7 and No. 39 picks in this year's draft.
